Both Peerbooms and Dohrendorf led the tournament at Golfbaan de Herkenbosche from the first day and were able to retain the lead and add a new title to their honors list.
Local hero Max Peerbooms showed once again how talented he is by posting another round under par. With his second 71 (-1) he was able to win the boys category seven strokes ahead of German Patrick Harms and nine holes ahead of fellow Dutchman Floris Jan Oosterhof.
In the girls category, Sophie Muljono from the Netherlands posted a strong third round in 72 strokes to put some pressure on Marietta Dohrendorf from Germany. But Dohrendorf remained calm although she posted a 75 (+3) which is enough to win with a three stroke advantage of Muljono.
After two good years at the Kempense Golf Club in Mol, Belgium, the Campine Junior Golf Classic moved to the Herkenbosche nearby Roermond in The Netherlands. ‘It proved to be a great choice’ says Martin van der Schans, one of the tournament directors.‘We are proud of the excellent cooperation with the Golfbaan de Herkenbosche and all its volunteers.’ he continues. ‘If we extend this focus and cooperation, we are sure this tournament is going to be a great tradition’ ads associate Henk van Dijken.
The third edition of the Campine Junior Golf Classic is organized by Pro Golf Events at the Golfbaan de Herkenbosche and is part of the Global Junior Golf Tour and Global Junior Golf 21golfleague. Results count towards the World Amateur Golf Ranking (WAGR).
