With a round in 76 strokes (+4), Ashley Fowler from Germany took over the number one spot from fellow German Johanna Steinberg in the girls category.
Christine Scholten is the new runner up after shooting two consecutive rounds of 76 (+4) and she has to pick up at least two shots to catch the leader Fowler. Marta Silchenko from Russia completes the top three after shooting a 75 (+3)
Bob Geurts from the Netherlands switched positions with yesterday’s runner up Hannes Ruhnau from Germany after Ruhnau shooting a solid 70 (-2) against Geurts his round of 72. Ruhnau now has a one shot lead over Geurts and three shots over Brandon Dietzel.
The field at the Campine Junior Golf Classic consists of earlier Global Junior Golf winners like Nicole Bonde Lorup (Tulip Golf Challenge – 2017), Brandon Dietzel (RB German Junior – 2018) and current leader Bob Geurts (European Spring Junior – 2018).
Although it is always difficult to top a good day, I think we’ve managed to do so during the second day’ tournament director Henk van Dijken states. ‘We again saw some great golf and red numbers and the average overall score was four strokes better than on the first day. We are really looking forward to the final day tomorrow.’
