With a round in 66 strokes (-6) Marnick Modder played two strokes better than the current course record of 68 strokes (Joost Luiten – 2002). He will take the lead in the boys category at the Tulip Golf Challenge in Assen.
Modder is followed closely by Bob Geurts, who already won two tournaments on the Global Junior Tour this year, which went around 68 strokes (-4). The Danish August Thor Host, winner of the last edition of the Tulip Golf Challenge, has to be satisfied with a third position after a round in 70 strokes (-2)
That golf runs trough the veins with the family Modder proves Marnick his sister Danielle, who after the score of 70 (-2), goes into the girls lead. Coincidentally Danielle Modder also feels the hot breath in her neck of a Dutch and Danish. Marloes van de Brink shoots a 71 (-1) today and Emilie Bjørge Myklebust completes the girls top 3 after a round level par (72).
The third edition of the Tulip Golf Challenge is organized by Pro Golf Events at the Drentsche Golf & Country Club and is part of the Global Junior Golf Tour and Global Junior Golf 21golfleague. Results count towards the World Amateur Golf Ranking (WAGR).
