The Winners of the 1st "Danish Junior Games"

Way up north, just one mile away from the ocean, Denmark has presented itself in a spectacular nature and players from around the world have found the "this hidden secret place" called the Blokhus Golfcenter. Mr. Dan Stage together with his team of Blokes Golfcenter have managed to setup the course late in the year in an outstanding shape. Not even for the internationals, also for the players from Denmark is was something special to encounter greens with speeds of 11 stimp that late in the year. Blokhus Golfcenter is privileged to have former players from the Challenge Tour on their staff, so it was not a coincidence that the course was prepared in a championship manner.

70 players had to play under all different kinds of weather conditions. Sun, no wind, lot´s of rain and wind with up to 40kmh. From the very beginning players have managed to set a high pace and so has Alice Gotbring from Sweden set a new course record on day 1. Many change of leads in the three day WAGR ranked tournament und consequently it was no surprise that a playoff was played in both divisions. Course record setter Alice Gotbring was defeated after the first playoff hole and Mette Janum Linkhusen from Denmark holed a 3m putt for her first Global Junior Golf victory (Interview)!

In the boys division three boys had to go into sudden death, to find who will be winner. I took two holes and excellent golf, that Magnus Arend Ostergaard (Interview) to also claim his first Global Junior Golf title. The first edition of the Danish Junior Games stayed in hands of Denmarks young rising stars. Global Junior Golf would like to thank all the volunteers, partners and sponsors making sure, that the first edition of the Danish Junior Games would be a full success. The date for 2018 is already set and players are welcome to register for the second edition of the Danish Junior Games!

From the 4th - 7th of October in 2018 it´s again time to pack your clothes and play up north at one of the hidden secrets in Denmark!
